“It is unfortunate that I am writing you while being incarcerated, but if I never wound up here, I may never have had the opportunity to learn and embrace from the absolutely amazing courses and text you have to offer on the tablets provided here.”—K, Suffolk County Correctional Facility

Freedom Inside’s Big Expansion
Along with over 700 inmates who receive Gangaji’s course and newsletters via regular mail, the year-old digital edition of Gangaji’s Freedom Inside course is now accessible to inmates in over 1,200 U.S. prisons via the Edovo educational platform. As of July 2025, over 6,000 prisoners accessed the digital edition of Freedom Inside.
Shanti Einolander, our content editor, has created 4 multi-media courses for inmates using the Edovo platform. Each digital course offers a guided learning path with Q&A sections and allows the participants to earn a certificate of completion. In addition, inmates can access a curated selection of Gangaji’s audios, videos, and newsletters to create a rich program for those living on the inside.
Collaborating with volunteer translator Patricia Vicente, we have now launched a digital Spanish edition of the Freedom Inside course, Libertad Dentro. As of this writing, 700 Spanish-speaking prisoners have accessed Libertad Dentro, and now we have one volunteer corresponding with an inmate in Spanish.
“What a wonder to have a vehicle like the GF Prison Program to send Gangaji's message to our sangha behind bars.” Shanti Einolander, Prison Program Manager
Corresponding One Heart to One Heart
“As a volunteer correspondent, I’m grateful and humbled by having found a friend living under such challenging circumstances, showing me that Truth and Peace are available anywhere and everywhere. We are supported. We are free.” —Surati
Diana Button, our Correspondence Coordinator, has just onboarded 10 new volunteers, and we may need more in the coming months. We have over 50 inmate/volunteer pairs writing in our peer-to-peer program. Our volunteers come from all parts of the world, including the US, Australia, Ecuador, Italy, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, and Canada. What an opportunity for all to deepen in their spiritual inquiry! Many thanks go to this team for sharing their hearts. Also, click here to read about Diana's recent book of poetry.
The Office Hub
“…how happy I am to be part of the team at the Foundation.”— Alicia
We receive a steady stream of letters from inmates every week. Alicia Ballantyne, Abby Stason, and Sutra Robinson respond to dozens of requests for books, correspondence partners, and enrollment in the Freedom Inside course by mail. More and more letters are coming from people who have found Gangaji while in prison and want to come closer.
All of this is possible through the collaboration between Gangaji, donors, volunteers, and staff. May it serve all being, both on the inside and outside.
“My meager vowels and consonants don’t do justice to what you’re doing for prisoners like me. The things you have shown me through this slim book has literally changed my life for good.” — R, Eastern Correctional Institution
