Use of Private Information Policy

We respect privacy regulations, including the EU’s General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and this policy explains how we collect and treat any information you give us.

Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

Cookies
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select "Remember Me", your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

Who we share your data with
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Newsletter
If you have signed up for our newsletter you may receive emails from us. This includes but not limited to transactional emails and marketing emails.

We'll only send emails which you have explicitly or implicitly (registration, product purchase etc.) signed up to.

On signup we collect your email address, your name, your current location, your current IP address and timestamp of signup, your IP address and timestamp when you have confirmed your subscription and the current web address where you sign up.

We send our emails via services called Mailgun and Constant Contact

Once you get an email from us we track if you open the email in your email client, if you click a link in the email, your current location, your current IP address.

We respect your browsers "Do Not Track" feature which means we do not track your interaction with our emails.

E-Commerce Orders
We collect information about you during the checkout process on our store.

  • Location, IP address and browser type: we’ll use this for purposes like reducing fraud.
  • When you purchase from us, we’ll ask you to provide information including your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, credit card/payment details and optional account information like username and password. Your credit card information is not stored on our site or servers.
  • We’ll also use cookies to keep track of cart contents while you’re browsing our site.

Who on our team has access
Members of our team have access to the information you provide us. For example, both Administrators and Shop Managers can access:

  • Order information like what was purchased, when it was purchased and where it should be sent (if a physical product), and
  • Customer information like your name, email address, and billing and shipping information.

Our team members have access to this information to help fulfill orders, process refunds and support you.

What we share with others
We use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to track website usage (how many visitors, which pages are visited, and more). No personal information is sent to Google Tag Manager or Google Analytics.

Payments
We process payments through Stripe and Authorize.net. When processing payments, some of your data will be passed to the payment processor, including information required to process or support the payment, such as purchase total and billing information.

Subscriptions
For the purposes of processing recurring subscription payments, we store the customer's name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number. Your credit card information is not stored on our site, but the payment processors store this information in order to process your initial payment and recurring payments.

Who has access to information about you
When we store information in our own systems, only the people who need it have access. Our administrative team has access to everything you’ve provided, but individual employees have access to only what they need to do their job.

The steps we take to keep your information private
Where we store your information in third-party services, we restrict access only to people who need it. We store passwords, for your ability to log in to our website, in local encrypted storage, behind hardened servers and WAFs (web application firewalls).

How to complain

Changes to the policy
If we change the contents of this policy, those changes will become effective the moment we publish them on our website.
