Prison Program

Thank You!

With the help of 142 donors from 16 countries around the world, we have met our goal. Together this community raised the $25,000 to match the initial gift of a generous donor who stepped forward in August.

With this total amount of $50,000, the men and women in our community who are confronting the heartbreaking realities of Covid-19 and racial inequality while living in prison will continue to receive essential support.

Here is what these gifts mean:

  • The monthly Freedom Inside course will be provided to all prisoners who request it free of charge, including workbooks, monthly teachings, and inquiries.
  • Letters between 70+ volunteers and prisoners in the correspondence program are delivered to support their deepening spiritual inquiry.Freedom Inside Workbooks
  • Gangaji, Papaji, and Ramana’s books, audios, and videos are made available to prisoners and prison libraries free of charge.
  • Scholarships will be awarded to ex-prisoners for Gangaji’s online programs following their release.
  • Our outreach to prison officials will continue.

“I have met with men who are doing life in Folsom Prison, and watched them weep in the fulfillment of their own heart.” - Gangaji

Established in 1994, the Gangaji Foundation Prison Program offers programs that support men and women living behind bars in furthering their spiritual inquiry. Regardless of anyone’s personal circumstance, it is possible to discover the peace and freedom that is alive within all of us.

Discovering freedom inside is the first step in ending the internal wars that can drive our minds, emotions, and unnecessary personal suffering. When we know who we are at the core, we can take real responsibility for our own happiness and our own choices.
