What Your Gift Can Do

Dear All,

I can’t think of a better way to start this letter than by sharing with you a prisoner’s heartfelt words. We know him only by his initials, but his letter speaks for many of us.

Dear Gangaji,
I cannot begin to express my sincere emotional bond that I feel we share due to having joined one another on this path of life. Thank you for all the discoveries you have enabled me to find, by if nothing more than embracing my presence. It’s a sense of comfort to know that I’m not alone, in an otherwise lonely place. — WF

Gangaji offers each and everyone one of us the support to live from love and peace rather than fear and hatred. She shows us how to end our unnecessary suffering, and in that, be more fully available. This essential message can shift the human perspective to one of openness, compassion, and inclusion. Doesn’t it seem like now is a very good time to send a message of peace to the world?

It is our community of volunteers and donors that sustain the Freedom Inside course that 309 prisoners receive each month. It is this loving community that launched Gangaji’s new website—our online satsang hall. We have taken a leap in the ways we can be together from all parts of the world, reach out to new people, and be supported in both good and challenging times. Gangaji welcomes us there wholeheartedly:

“This is your resting place, your watering hole. Find what supports you, what includes you, and drink it in. Be nourished. Be enlivened. And when you feel thirsty again, drink some more.”

Just imagine what it will mean to all of us if we expand the depth and breadth of the website, the prison program, global translations, podcasts, social media, and retreat scholarships. To fully fund all of our programs this year and sail into 2020, the Gangaji Foundation’s year-end donation goal is $196,000.

To help us meet this significant year-end goal, someone we know and love has stepped forward with a special invitation for you. Her name is Hillary Larson.

Hillary began volunteering at the Gangaji Foundation in 2009. She has served as an event coordinator, podcast host, strategist, and she is also a donor. Her unwavering passion is to share Gangaji’s invitation. She knows firsthand how this invitation benefits our lives, our families, our communities, and our world.

To send this message of peace to the world, Hillary invites you to join hands with her and a few friends this year. They will match every new or renewed monthly pledge or pledge increase made by December 31st for one full year, up to $22,000. Thank you, Hill and all! This special invitation means your new monthly pledge of $25 will become a $50 pledge for one year. A new monthly pledge of $100 will become a $200 pledge for one year. Hand in hand, we can raise $44,000 for the programs that serve our discovery of home.

Please consider being a new or returning pledge donor or simply make a one-time donation this year. Every gift matters. If you have benefitted from any of Gangaji’s programs, it was because community members like you made it possible. I invite you to share the gift of yourself, to share this invitation to peace, love, and fulfillment with the world. Send a message of peace to those you may never meet in other parts of the world, to those living behind prison walls, and those who share the same deep desire for lasting freedom and peace.

Whether you pledge to become a monthly donor or give a one-time donation towards our year end goal, your contribution large or small, matters. It will make a difference in our ability to move forward with all our programs just as we have done faithfully every year. It is a privilege to ask for your support of this work that lights candles of peace across the globe. Thank you!

May all being awaken to itself.
