Gangaji has often invited us to answer this simple question, “How will your life be used?”
It is a potent question. What we give our life energy and our attention to matters, for ourselves, our families, and even the lives of those we may never meet. Quite wonderfully, when we give our attention to serving the peace alive in every heart, we can’t know the result, we may not even be able to imagine an outcome, but our own experience tells us the impact is very real.
Just one year ago, who could have imagined that over 350,000 US prisoners (and growing) would be able to access Gangaji’s Freedom Inside course on an iPad? Well, it has happened!
In just the first two weeks since we launched Gangaji’s program on the digital platform, Edovo, over 1,300 prisoners have taken the course, listened to podcasts, or watched Gangaji on video. This is a truly thrilling new expansion to a program the community has sustained since 1994.
This is what it means to come together in serving peace. In 2024, it certainly has meant a lot to Brad. He calls himself a 70-year-old “lifer.” Brad is incarcerated in a California prison and felt he has squandered many opportunities for self-realization. After taking Gangaji’s course on Edovo, he wrote….
“I would like to participate in any program or services you offer. I discovered Gangaji via ‘Edovo’- took the Freedom Inside course on the tablet the state provides. In 40+ years of inconsistent practice, I have experienced one five second period of connectedness. For that, I am grateful. I am running out of time, physically. My situation has given me a unique opportunity to find the truth…Keep a smile on your minds!"— Brad
The community has grown globally in the most wonderful ways. We are naturally connected in a shared purpose, and we want to support that connection to realize how we can fulfill that purpose. To help bring us all together, the staff has created a new community hub for you on gangaji.org. It is a place to read stories and reports from other community members, get updates on what your donations are doing, and discover new volunteer opportunities.
Please take a moment to enjoy the community hub now. When you scroll through the page you will find a place to add your voice, to share your feedback. Your participation will make these pages come alive. Be sure to look for reports from me and the staff too!
Thank you for bringing yourself to this possibility of peace and sharing it with the world.
With love and gratitude,
Barbara
P.S. Save the Date! To support this digital expansion of the Prison Program, the Donor Collaborative is sending out an open invitation to the community to learn more about this new offering from the GF Prison Program and how we can support it. The online zoom gathering is being held on Saturday, May 11 at 9AM PT. To join the call sign up here.
“This is your resting place, your watering hole. Find what supports you, what includes you, and drink it in. Be nourished. Be enlivened. And when you feel thirsty again, drink some more.” —Gangaji
