The Weather Theory of Emotions
Maui, Hawaii
January 14, 1996
In one of our favorite videos from the archives, Gangaji explores the superstitious tendencies surrounding our emotional lives, and the inherent suffering in identifying ourselves with a particular emotional state.
"We have a relationship with our emotions as if they were signs from God, signs of either anointment or being sent from the Garden. This is all built around the superstition that our emotions actually, inherently, mean something, rather than simply moving through like passing weather. A storm comes, it’s most unpleasant, some things get battered, some things get ruined, but the storm passes."
