Hope & Hopelessness
4.23.2011 AM

Omega Institute, NY

Gangaji talks about the hope that is appropriate to sustain us when we are children and the realization as an adult that our magical thinking cannot change the universe. She tells the story of a childhood scar that she hoped would go away, and the hopelessness that she was ultimately flawed. To have the space to hear the truth of yourself you have to have the strength to open to the dark, scary, bad energy that we believe is at our core. With the willingness to simply open to that with no hope that opening will change anything, it is found to be nothing. It is the willingness for everything to be exactly as it is in this moment.

"For a moment, for a day, give up hope of anything being different, anything, externally, or internally."
