Silent Retreat with Gangaji
Fallen Leaf Lake

May 22-27, 2022

Attending a residential retreat with Gangaji offers a unique opportunity to withdraw from the normal distractions of your everyday life and inquire into what you truly want.

“The purpose of this retreat is to support you in never overlooking the peace of who you are in any degree ever again.”

With the support of Gangaji, other participants, and in the pristine, contemplative setting of Fallen Leaf Lake, you can embark on a deep inner dive of self-discovery. This is the gift of retreat.

With Self-Inquiry, Gangaji will guide and support you throughout the retreat in turning your attention away from your thoughts and into the direct experience of what is always here - peace itself, consciousness itself.

In Daily Meetings with Gangaji, your questions and reports are welcome and essential to the vitality of the retreat.

Our time together may also include meditation, chanting and video presentations.

Watch a short video presentation to hear more from Gangaji about what retreat offers.

Important COVID Information for Retreat Registration

To support the health of the overall community, Gangaji asks that all who attend are fully vaccinated. (A person is considered fully vaccinated 2 weeks after completion of a two-dose mRNA series or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Boosters are highly recommended.)

Additionally, we are requiring all participants to provide proof of a negative COVID test result prior to entering the retreat site.

When registering for this event, you will be agreeing to provide proof at check-in that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and have had a recent negative COVID test. If proof is not provided when you arrive, you will not be able to attend the retreat. We will also follow State and local mask mandates.

If the event is cancelled due to COVID-19, all fees will be refunded.

Special Needs: While Stanford Sierra is able to provide housing and meals for most individuals with special needs, we need to know about them at least two weeks prior to the retreat to be sure they can be accommodated. Important COVID-19 Information
for Retreat Registration

All of us here at the Gangaji Foundation are looking forward to welcoming you to Gangaji’s 2022 silent retreat on the shores of Fallen Leaf Lake. Finally! As we take our first steps into the first in-person retreat we have hosted in over 2 years, please know your well-being is important to us. To that end, we want to be sure you are clear on our COVID-19 policies and prepared to fulfill the vaccination and additional testing requirements.
  • All guests and staff will be required to provide proof of vaccination upon arrival. Valid proof of vaccination includes: your original vaccine card, a photo of your original vaccine card or a digital COVID-19 vaccine record. Guests who fail to provide proof of vaccination upon arrival will not be allowed on campus and risk losing their refund.
  • New: We are also asking participants to also provide proof of a negative COVID test prior to entering the retreat facility. This testing policy is an extra layer of protection.
  • The COVID-19 test must be taken within 3-5 days prior to the start of the retreat (if PCR/NAAT) or 24 hours (if antigen). If you are unable to secure a PCR/NAAT or antigen test from a test provider, an at-home rapid test will be accepted. A rapid test must be self-administered on the day of arrival; please take a photo of the test result and show it when you arrive.
  • Masking - We will follow the masking guidelines recommended by the CDC and/or required by the State of California. For areas of low community COVID transmission levels, guests, and staff are not required currently to wear face masks indoors. For those who choose to wear a face mask indoors, face masks and sanitation supplies will be available at the entrance to all indoor spaces. If the masking guidelines change, we will comply with those changes.
  • Entering Stanford Sierra Conference Center —Upon arriving, your car will be greeted by a Guest Services representative or volunteer at the fire pit outside of the main lodge. They will review and confirm your proof of vaccination, negative test result, and check your temperature. You will be asked verbally if you have experienced any COVID symptoms in the last seven days.
  • Before you travel - Please review this questionnaire about COVID-19 symptoms in advance to ensure that we can welcome you onto campus. You may arrive at the Stanford Sierra Conference Center any time after 2:00 p.m. on the day your reservation begins.

From Previous Retreats

Being at the Retreat with everyone and Gangaji was life changing for me. Back home, life is, well…life— simple and yet spacious and real. There’s an immediacy, a soft strength here to meet life as it unfolds. It feels new and delicate and at the same time deep and known. So thank you, thank you thank you Gangaji and all for all the work that you all do to make these events possible.
In meeting with Gangaji and others on retreat heart to heart, I found what I have been searching for all my life. I was here all along. Now I can stop the search.
Time to unplug in the presence of Gangaji and the silent fellowship of others.
There are no words for the gratitude. Life was so heavy and such a burden. Now I am here as love itself.
The utter simplicity of remembering who I am, in the beauty of nature, with loving fellow travelers, is priceless.
