The Fall Into Silent Surrender: Facing Our Fear & Seeing Our Resistance

We begin our inquiry with the essential call to surrender. There is a deep longing within us to be whole and free. The normal path is to reach outside ourselves to fill the longing. Papaji’s guidance was simple: Stop. Call off the search. In the  particular moment that we surrender the momentum of our drive for survival, and all that goes with it, we can see what is here already—who we are in truth. The resistance and fear that postpone surrender, perpetuate the cycle of suffering in our lives. When we recognize that fear and resistance are an aspect of our human experience, transformation is possible.
