The Permission to Be Happy

Gangaji invites us to give ourselves permission to be happy. She reminds us that in a society that encourages us to be driven and always going, the permission to be happy is the permission to rest:

“The invitation to be happy is the invitation to be still. Not happiness as in a "happy face," but joy, the deep joy that is your nature. If you are willing to be still, there is a possibility you will discover that happiness is your true nature. It is not foreign to you. It’s not something you have to get from a practice, a substance, or a  relationship. It’s already here. To be still is to simply Be.”
